Conferencia de la UJCL!
El tema de esta
conferencia, que se llevará a cabo en San José del 29 enero a 1 febrero es
"Israel y la Diáspora, fortaleciendo nuestros lazos". Tenemos dos objetivos: Conocer la información
más actualizada posible sobre una amplia gama de tópicos, e identificar cómo
nosotros y nuestras comunidades podemos apoyar Israel aún más eficazmente.
Tendremos el
privilegio de escuchar a las siguientes destacadas personalidades:
- Gil Hoffman, Corresponsal Político Principal, The Jerusalem Post
- Peggy Cidor, miembro de la Junta Directiva de Mujeres del Kotel, una de las organizaciones clave en la lucha por el pluralismo religioso en Israel
- Dr. David Breakstone, Vice-Presidente de la Organización Sionista Mundial, la agencia fundada por Teodoro Herzl para avanzar el sueño sionista de una patria judía
- Dr. Samuel Feldberg, Profesor de Relaciones Internacionales, Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco , Brasil, e Investigador Adjunto, Centro Dayan/Universidad de Tel Aviv; un experto en política del Medio Oriente
A través de una
combinación de talleres y plenarios, estos oradores sobresalientes, junto con
representantes de organizaciones judías regionales y mundiales, compartirán sus
conocimientos y experiencias. Será una
gran oportunidad para interactuar con líderes sobre un tema que nos une a todos
– el bienestar de Medinat Yisrael.
Adicionalmente, solista
Yaakov Rodriguez, con la orquesta de cámara y el coro de “UCR Coral,” nos
llevarán en un tour a través de la historia judía en la presentación musical “ZeHazemer”. Estos artistas interpretarán la música judía
de alrededor del mundo – el Medio Oriente, África del Norte, Europa, y por
supuesto Israel. Es posible que haya
escuchado algunas de las canciones, pero nunca las han escuchado presentadas de

The XIV Conference of the UJCL is just around the
corner!
The topic of this year’s convention, which will take place from
29 January to 1 February, is “Israel and the Diaspora: Strengthening Our
Ties.” The idea is two-fold: To learn
up-to-the-minute details of what is going on in Israel with respect to a broad
range of topics, and to identify how we and our communities can support Israel
even more effectively.
We will have the privilege of hearing the following
distinguished speakers:
- Gil Hoffman, Chief Political Correspondent for The Jerusalem Post
- Peggy Cidor, a member of the Board of Directors of “Women of the Wall,” one of the key organizations on the frontlines of the fight for religious pluralism in Israel
- Dr. David Breakstone, Vice-Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, the agency founded by Theodor Herzl to advance the Zionist dream of a Jewish homeland
- Dr. Samuel Feldberg, Senior Research Scholar and Professor of International Relations, Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco and Research Fellow, Dayan Center/Tel Aviv University, an expert on Middle East politics
Through a combination of workshops and plenaries, these
leading figures, along with representatives of regional and worldwide Jewish
organizations and members of our sister communities, will share their knowledge
and experiences. It will be a unique
opportunity to interact with outstanding personalities on a subject that unites
us all – the well-being of Medinat
Yisrael.
In addition, soloist Yaakov Rodriguez, together with the
chamber orchestra and choir of “UCR Coral,” will take us on a tour of Jewish
history in the musical presentation “ZeHazemer.” These artists will interpret Jewish music
from around the world – the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and of course
Israel. You may have heard some of the
music before, but you have never heard it performed in this way. We thank Bank Hapoalim for sponsoring the
concert.
Of course, there is much more – a cocktail party, gala
dinner, daily and Shabbat services. Give
